The East Lancashire out-of-hours (OOHs) formulary has been developed collaboratively with Providers of OOH services and |
commissioners. It is based on the national OOH formulary described in Delivering the Out of Hours Review: Securing Proper |
Access to Medicines in the Out of Hours Period (Department of Health, December 2004). These medicines are carried as stock |
items by the OOH services and are intended to be issued to patients at times when pharmacies are closed, and during home |
visits. When ordering medicines on the FP10 prescription form, prescribers are strongly encouraged to follow the OOH formulary |
wherever possible. If this is not appropriate then prescribing should be in accordance with the wider East Lancashire Joint |
Formulary. |
